Haines Junction’s Ecko Kirk has been signed to the SAIT Trojans for the 2021-2022 season.

Pilot Mound Hockey Academy announced that Female Buffalo Kirk has committed to SAIT College (ACAC) in Calgary for next season.

Kirk plans to take Nutrition for Healthy Lifestyles and hopefully move into SAITs paramedic program.

She played 53 games in a Buffaloes uniform, finishing her career with five points and 32 penalty minutes over her two seasons in Pilot Mound (2019-2021).

A message from PMHA Co-Head Coach, Brad Platt:

“Congratulations to Ecko on your recent commitment to further your education and play hockey at SAIT in Calgary, Alberta,” said Brad Platt, the academy’s co-head coach.

“We are all super-proud of you. I have thoroughly enjoyed coaching Ecko for the past two seasons here at the Pilot Mound Hockey Academy.

“Coming here from the Yukon would have been a big adjustment for most but not for Ecko. Her big smile, work ethic, and caring attitude will help Ecko achieve her goals,” Platt added.

“Ecko plays defence for the Pilot Mound Female Buffaloes and has improved so much since she came here two years ago. She is tough to beat 1 on 1, sees the ice well, and is tough as nails.

“Good luck, Ecko, keep smiling and keep working hard. I have full confidence you will succeed. SAIT is lucky to get you and you will be missed here at PMHA.”
