Driving Force couldn’t afford any slip ups on Saturday in the quest for glory, so they were relieved to come through the game unscathed in a 4-1 win over Yukoninfo.com.

The goals were shared around four Driving Force players to show what can be accomplished by the sum of all the parts.

Graham Sim is having a standout season. He scored again for Driving Force and was also a thorn in the side of Yukoninfo.com for most of the game.

His strike partner and Karaoke companion Sandy Gross also hit the back of the net.

Pat Zuccarini and Mick Marceau were the other tormentors for Driving Force, as they cruised towards the win.

Yukoninfo.com never really got into their stride, as the early morning start affected their energy levels, although Matt Larsen scored a lovely goal.

With only two games to go, three teams can still win the league title, and Driving Force are in particularly good shape, as their squad is fit and healthy and they have a lot of talent to display.

Chandler does it again

Mark Chandler, skipper, talisman and great player, dug his team out of a hole with a hat trick that took his team to the top of the league.

Chieftain were seeking a big upset and they started well with Guiliano Rayo getting the first of his two goals.

Klondike Office Solutions couldn’t get going. Missed passes, weak shots and a poor first touch all contributed to a frustrating first half for them with Chieftain deservedly going into the break leading.

Following the interval, a change of tactics led to KOS being more positive. Adding players to the attack, they were able to score a couple of goals from close range.

Then Chandler seized the opportunity to take the game away from Chieftain. Brimming with confidence, he grabbed his three goals to cap a turnaround that no one saw at half time.

Chieftain were again plagued by injuries and absenteeism, but they battled hard in a vain battle.

Chandler now sits on top of the golden boot race with only a couple of games to go.

Andy Todd got the other goals to round out the final score 5-2 for Klondike Office Solutions

Joel Pushparaj goal not enough for Yukon Brewing

The last game of the morning saw an incredible duel between Air North Rangers and Yukon Brewing that finished 4-4 with many talking points.

Joel Pushparaj scored his first goal of the season with an expertly taken tap in as Yukon Brewing were quick out of the blocks.

Skipper Ciaran Connolly continued his hot streak with another goal and a new celebration that may get him his dream job as a back-up dancer for Beyonce.

Ernesto Castillo and Eric Murphy scored the other Yukon Brewing goals as they eased to a 4-1 lead.

Iain Breckenridge teams are known for their ability to fight to the end, and that’s just what they did, as Justin Carre, Ale Pulido and Carlos Astorquiza added to the goal.

Joel Odulio scored earlier to bring Air North level.

From that point it was all Air North and it was a surprise that they didn’t manage to find a winner.
