Dental Molars get close one-goal win in hockey league

Four goals in the first period was all the Klondyke Dental Molars needed to secure a win against Kilrich in the Oldtimers Hockey League Wednesday.

The Molars overcame a 2-0 deficit, scoring all four goals in the final 12 minutes of the opening frame, including the game winner with 2:10 remaining on the clock.

Joel Witten gave Kilrich a quick 1-0 advantage, netting the first goal at 18:09. Mike Blower and Bob Allison were each credited with an assist on the play.

Blower increased his team's lead to 2-0, before Rob Millar, Tim Turner-Davis and Paul Sahagian, who scored twice, gave the Molars a 4-2 lead by the end of the first period.

Rick Moses scored at the half-way point of the second period, but that was as close as Kilrich could make it in the 4-3 loss.


Edgewater Hotel 5, Firth Rangers 5

Brent Cooper led the way in scoring for the Edgewater Hotel, netting a pair of goals, while the team also had help from Morley Lessard, Brent Stokes and Rick Seaman.

Bruce Demchuk contributed two goals for the Rangers, while other scorers on the team were Ron Limoges, Gary Boyd and Steve Reynolds.

Both teams scored twice in the first period and added three more in the second. The Rangers netted the last goal at 5:24.
