Dental Molars and Yukon Inn eliminated from playoffs

Both the AON Flames and Firth Rangers brought their 'A' games on Wednesday in the Whitehorse Oldtimers Hockey League.

Both the AON Flames and Firth Rangers brought their 'A' games on Wednesday in the Whitehorse Oldtimers Hockey League.

Facing elimination from this year's playoff's after losing on Sunday, the two teams won by four goals.

The Flames knocked out the Klondyke Dental Molars 6-2, while Firth went on to eliminate Yukon Inn 5-1.


AON Flames 6, Klondyke Dental Molars 2

Blaine Demchuk and Wade Harrison were AON's offensive heroes in the team's battle with Klondyke Dental Molars.

Demchuk scored the team's first and third goal, while Harrison put in the rest.

Harrison ended the game with an incredible four goals and one assist, while Demchuk finished with an impressive three points.

Jeff Jensen led the Flames in assists, totalling three.

Rob Millar and Adam Green made up the Molars' scoring list. Millar assisted on Green's goal.

AON finished in fourth place in the league standings at the conclusion of the regular season. The team had 19 wins, 19 losses and four ties.


Firth Rangers 5, Yukon Inn 1

Five separate scorers made up Firth's goal production on Wednesday.

Ed van Randen, Ted Hupe, Gerald Haase, Carl Burgess and Ron Sumanik each finished with a goal on the Rangers' side.

Brian Boorse netted the Yukon Inn's lone goal, which was assisted by Rick Blaker and Sean McAskie.

Firth finished the regular season in third place, with a 20-13-9 record.

Oldtimers' play will resume tonight with Medicine Chest against Edgewater Hotel and Kilrich versus Performance Centre Turbos.
