The Whitehorse Glacier Bear posted the top time in her 100-m swim heat, locking down a spot in the final.
Gabor was nearly a second ahead of her closest heat competitor, finishing with a time of 54.72. Her time ended up being the second fastest overall, trailing only Ontario swimmer Sinead Russell.
Representing the territory in the 100-m men's category were Joshua Kelly and Brice Harding. Harding finished with a time of 55.91, while Kelly posted 56.90. Both times were not quite fast enough to lockdown a spot in the final.
On Monday, the Yukon boys' soccer team saw its first competition at this year's Canada Games, taking on an always-tough squad from Quebec.
The first half saw two good scoring opportunities early on for the Yukoners and ended in 0-0 draw.
At half time the Yukon boys really believed they could beat Quebec and couldn't wait to start the second half.
They continued to do well in the second half for the first 10 minutes, but Quebec finally broke through and scored one from a nice play out of the corner.
A second goal followed a couple of minutes later on a scramble in the Yukon's box.
The third goal came about 10 minutes later from the left side, a low shot into the corner.
The Yukon brought itself back into the game for the final 10 minutes, but unfortunately couldn't score. The game ended 3-0 for Quebec.
The Yukoners next game is against Nova Scotia.
By press time today Ontario was leading all provinces at the Summer Games with an impressive 63 medals.
The most populated Canadian province leads Quebec by five medals, while B.C. sits in third place with 56.
Alberta is in a distant fourth (21 medals), while Nova Scotia is the top maritime province with 14 medals.
The Yukon, Prince Edward Island, Nunavut and the Northwest Territories each have yet to win a medal.
This is the final week of competition at the 2009 Games, which conclude Sunday with the closing ceremonies.tus and they go for it."
Lucas said it would be a savouring victory if he somehow manages to finish ahead of some of the sled dogs.
"It would be amazing."
