After we postponed the Yukon Brewing Copper Haul Twister race from the original date to Jan. 30 because of the cold temperatures, seven teams competed in the 10.5 Mile Twister and enjoyed a fast trail and the nice sunshine on Sunday.

While some of the distant mushers that usually participate in the Copper Haul Twister are currently busy preparing their teams for the soon-to-start Yukon Quest 300, we had some of the top sprint teams of the region coming out to the race sponsored by Duffy's Pets & Tanzilla Harness Supply.

The next Yukon Brewing Copper Haul Twister will be held on Feb. 13th.

The following are Sunday's results:

10.5 Mile Twister (6-dog sled unless otherwise stated)

  1. Dave Johnson 37.17

  2. Tony Radford 38.07

  3. Stefan Wackerhagen 41.58 (3 dogs skis)

  4. Darryl Sheepway 42.16 (4 dogs skis)

  5. Cynthia Corriveau 43.50 (2 dogs skis)
