Cinderwood withstands the Storm; Narrow Gauge downs Sports North

Martin Lawrie recorded a hat trick for the Cinderwood Canucks as they dominated the Southern Tutchone Storm 11-4 in Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League action Tuesday.

Frank Aucoin, Mark King and Ben Wondga added two goals apiece for the Canucks while Jeff O'Farrell and Ian Kuster also scored.

Matt Horsey potted a pair of goals for the Storm while Keith Smith and Scott Horsey each had one.

Narrow Gauge Contracting 6

Sports North 4

Jon Preston chipped in a pair of goals for Narrow Gauge Contracting as they skated past Sports North.

James Maltby, George Maratos and Dan Macdonald also found the back of the net for Narrow Gauge.

Mike O'Connor, Derrick Hynes, Kevin Olson and Dale Kulych replied for Sports North.

Kluane Drillers 8

Willy McKenna was on fire for the Air North Jets, notching five goals as his team snuck past the Kluane Drillers.

Greg Charlie tacked on three goals for the Jets while Jeff Foster had one.

Doug Roberts collected a hat trick for the Drillers while Duane Shewfelt and Tyler Murray netted two goals apiece. Daniel Murray also scored.

Boston Pizza 11

Kopper King 5

Derek Johnstone continued his torrid scoring pace in the second half of the season, scoring four goals as Boston Pizza conquered the Kopper Kings.

Barry Blisner, Rob Johnson and Mike Nikon each added a pair of markers for BP while James Edzerza contributed one.

Ryan Hodgins grabbed a pair of goals for the Kings while Larry Daigneault, Darre Van Langen and Graham Carruthers also hit the twine.

Sports North 3

Environmental Dynamics 2

Rick Olson, Rich Graham and Landon Kulych supplied the offence for Sports North as they edged Environmental Dynamics.

Dave Richard and Jeremy Hookham replied for EDI.

Alkan Air 6

Alwarid & Associates 5

Pete Mostyn claimed a pair of goals for Alkan Air as they picked up a rare victory over Alwarid & Associates.

Brent Byers, Brent Mekelberg, Joel Witten and Al Hansen also lit the lamp for Alkan.

Sean Eyding tapped in two goals for A&A while Shayne Parker, Matt Ordish and Blayne Monahan each had one.

Southern Tutchone Storm 10

Clayton Thomas had a big game for the Yukon Appliance Blues, potting five goals as they triumphed over the Southern Tutchone Storm in an offensive battle.

Eric Kositsin and Cary Goodman each tacked on a pair of goals while Ryan Martin and Eric Hendricks each claimed one.

Scott Horsey burried five goals for the Storm while Wyatt Drift recorded a hat trick. Jeremy Miller also scored.

Kopper Kings 6

Alwarid & Associates 0

Dan Johnson posted the shut out in goal for the Kopper Kings as his team denied Alwarid & Associates.

Ryan Hodgins and Ben Cole grabbed two goals apiece for the Kings while Ryan MacKenzie and Dan Hombert each tacked on a goal.

Kluane Drillers 2

Matt Horsey picked up four goals for the Southern Tutchone Storm as they beat the Kluane Drillers.

Cody Joe and Scott Horsey also found the back of the net for the Storm.

Doug Roberts and Mark Daniels notched singles for the Drillers.

Sports North 7

Alkan Air 3

Derrick Hynes led Sports North with three goals as they downed Alkan Air.

Dale Kulych added a pair of goals for Sports North while Rick Olson and Terry Jackson each claimed one.

Joel Whitten, Dean Faragher and Al Hansen replied for Alkan.
