A local historic group will take a step back in time Aug. 1.

Registration is underway for the second annual Yukon Historical and Museums Association (YHMA) Charity Croquet Tournament.

The event will see players using mallets to hit coloured wooden balls through a series of wickets on the lawn of the SS  Klondike in Whitehorse.

Teams of two will square off in the easy-to-learn one-day golf croquet tournament.

Bragging rights, prizes and awards will be up for grabs, alongside a silent auction with all proceeds going to YHMA.

To register, visit www.heritageyukon.ca or call 667-4704.

Registration includes tournament entry, a barbecue lunch, swag and post-event refreshments. A portion of the fee is eligible for a charitable tax receipt.
