Air North Rangers destroyed closest rivals Klondike Business Solutions 5-2 to maintain their charge to the title in over 35’s soccer action on Saturday.

It looks like only COVID-19 can stop their relentless progress, as again, Huy Nguyen was in top form as he was in the right place at the right time to bag two goals.

Marcelo Gortari got two goals, and there was one for Myles Dolphin.

The star of the show however, was  fitness guru Ciaran Connolly, he was all over opposition all-star Matthias Hartman like a cheap suit. Connolly was throwing himself into tackles with no thought of his personal safety, delivering the kind of performance that the league has become accustomed too.

For KBS they were missing their normal defence and it showed, as Air North were able to find big holes and exploit them for their own means.

They now have a four point lead at the top, and they do not look like they will relinquish it.

Scorers for KBS were Hartman and Jim Brown.

Carre pumped to beat
Driving Force

Ex-bodybuilder Justin Carre used all his power to help his Yukon Brewing team to win against a depleted Driving Force team 4-3.

Carre was back to his brilliant best as he used all of his experience to guide his team to victory.

He was able to control the tempo of the game whilst scoring two goals that he seemed to enjoy based on his celebrations.

Miles Hume was back scoring goals as well as he netted twice for the Brew.

Driving Force were lucky to cobble together a team, but Phil Jackson taking the reins gallantly held things together with a fine performance and two trademark goals.

But even though they employed a lot of quality replacements they weren’t quite able to match Carre and his willing teammates.

The Brew are now putting together a string of wins that may see them rise up the league.

Jurgen Korn got the other Driving Force goal.

No winner in the battle
of the Zuccarini

The scene was set for an epic family battle as Michael and Patrick Zuccarini lined up on opposite sides of the pitch, as father, Joe, looked on from the stands.

The matchup turned out to be a very entertaining game of soccer between YukonInfo.com and Pepsi.

Both teams weren’t interested in defending as they piled forward to attack the opposition goal.

Unfortunatly both keepers were in inspired form.

Charle Hoeller, who made his first appearance in the over 35’s when Neil Armstrong was walking on the moon, was superb. His agility and bravery was a lesson to younger keepers.

At the other end, Derek Krawchuk was patrolling the penalty area like a rottweiler on energy drinks.

Pat Zuccarini got the first goal for Pepsi but this was cancelled out by Franklin Fru, making his first appearance of the season.

Guliano Rayo scored next only for the younger Zuccarini to level things up.

The last five minutes was like a coconut shy as everyone was shooting but nobody was scoring leaving the game a 2-2 tie.
