Korn crushes the pizza boys

Pepsi, who have been at the basement of the Men’s 35 and Over Soccer league most of the season, pulled off one of the big upsets of the season as they turned over Tony’s Pizza 6-2. Leading the charge was Jürgen Korn, who relishes the physical confrontation of the game, throwing himself into contact at every opportunity. Korn also has a shot like a Howitzer and blitzed two goals.

Skipper Phil Jackson also got two, as he reflects on what could have been if he had a settled lineup all season. There was also a goal for JP Ladroue, with an own goal to complete the scoring. Ben Mercier picked up a consolation for Tony’s.

Yukon Brewing consolidate position at the top

Yukon Brewing cruised to an easy win over Klondike Business Solutions on the weekend, posting a 4-0 shutout.

The game was played at a sedate pace as KBS was struggling to overcome the absentees in the lineup.

Mark O’Brien controlled things at the back, and was a constant menace when he came forward.

O’Brien rattled in another goal as he shows he is not just a one trick pony, and vital to the Brew’s title charge. Guiliano Rayo, Pat Shaw and Liz Bradley all scored for the Brew, who have the league title in their grasp now, only having to avoid defeat in their final two games to run out champions.

The over 35’s soccer report is prepared by Andy Todd.
