Boston Pizza/Matco nets 16 in rec. hockey league; team defeats Cinderwood Canucks

Boston Pizza/Matco put on an offensive display against one of the top teams Friday in the Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League, beating the Cinderwood Canucks 16-7.

Boston Pizza/Matco put on an offensive display against one of the top teams Friday in the Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League, beating the Cinderwood Canucks 16-7.

Derek Johnstone and Rob Johnson made up for half of the goal total on Boston Pizza/Matco. Each player netted four goals.


Boston Pizza/Matco 16, Cinderwood Canucks 7

Other goal scorers on Boston Pizza included Barry Blisner, Lance Brown and Randy Merkel, who each put in a pair, while Jordan Borgeford and Bryan Curial netted the remaining goals.

Chris and Ryan Gleason each finished with a pair of goals and a couple of assists for Cinderwood, while Ryan Kihney also netted two goals.

The remaining scorers for Cinderwood included Jay Glass and Wes Marsh, while Cart Campbell also played very well, finishing with three assists.


Whitehorse Mustangs 4, ORC Tree Services 2

Jaxon Glass led all scorers on the Mustangs with two goals and one assist, while the team's remaining scorers were Cody Underhill and Bryden Cook.

Ben Wondga and Dan King each scored for ORC.


Yukon Inn Boiler Room 16, Summit Savages 8

Yukon Inn concluded Saturday's game in the B division by scoring a remarkable nine goals in the final 22 minutes of play.

The team's leading scorers were Joe Beckett and Lars Jessup, who each netted four goals.

Mike Menzies also played very well, notching a pair of goals, while Will Beckett, David Galbrith and Hugh Boyle each finished with one goal.

Adam Georges contributed three assists, while Josh Holms finished with two assists.

Bryn Battersby netted a hat trick for Summit Savages, while Mark Nassiopoulos scored twice.

Dustin Slonski, Craig Yakichuck and Neil MacDonald each scored the team's remaining three goals.
