Boogie boarding debuts during annual whitewater rodeo

Poor weather Wednesday evening didn't affect the energy surrounding the annual Whitehorse Whitewater Rodeo, held by the Yukon Canoe and Kayak Club.
Fans bundled up in rain gear while competitors were in their element in the Yukon River near the Fish Latter and at the wave.
For the first time, the event showcased a boogie boarding event, which seemed to be a crowd favourite, with onlookers cheering atop the competitors directly above the wave on Centennial Bridge.
The event also included the kayak slalom, kayak freestyle, canoe slalom and raft race flip, wherein teams bombed down the river, purposefully tipped the raft, got back in and to race for the finish line.
