Billy leads Turbos to dominance

The Performance Centre Turbos stomped on the Firth Rangers hopes of keeping pace with the league leaders in Oldtimer Hockey League action Thursday night.

The Performance Centre Turbos stomped on the Firth Rangers hopes of keeping pace with the league leaders in Oldtimer Hockey League action Thursday night.

The Turbos shut out the second-place Rangers 5-0.

Sean McAskie led the assault with a hat trick and Kelly Collins added the other two markers while Dave Ecker and Ross Phillips each chipped in two assists. Brian Johnston and Matt Sills contributed single assists.

James Billy recorded the shutout for the Turbos.

The Performance Centre victory keeps them tied for third place with the Yukon Inn, which defeated Kilrich 5-3 in oldtimer action Wednesday.

The loss moves the Rangers four points back of first-place Medicine Chest, which defeated Edgewater 3-1 Wednesday.

In the only other oldtimer game last night, the AON Flames slammed the Klondyke Dental Molars 6-1.

Brian Monahan scored once and added three assists to lead the offence. Wade Harrison scored twice and added an assist; Bill Watson recorded a pair of goals.

Doug Harris notched a goal and an assist and Mike L'Henaff and Rick Blaker added two assists each.

Rick Smith scored the lone goal for the Molars on a pass from Steve Reynolds.
