What more could the 39 riders, comprising 12 teams, taking part in VeloNorth's annual team time trial ask for?

With the Kluane to Chilkat International Bike Relay just around the corner, this event provided the ideal opportunity to test fitness, practice riding in a pace line and put in some hard kilometers.

Paul Christensen and Jonah Clark joined forces as a two-person team called Big and Dumb. This duo blistered the 48-kilometre course in a time of one hour, eight minutes and 28 seconds, leaving little doubt who was fastest.

In second place, one minute and 10 seconds behind Big and Dumb, was the Green Team made up of Glen Iceton, Scott Kirby and Jerome McIntyre.

The team with arguably the best name was Chicks on Slicks. Comprised of Nicole Ruest, Heather Enders and Jillian Chown, the Chicks on Slicks team placed ninth overall in a time of hour, 21 minutes and 48 seconds.

Probably the most confusing thing about the evening however was the wind. Just about everyone wanted to know how it is you can have a headwind for the whole distance, if it is an out and back course?
