With a number of top players absent this week with fund-raising commitments, league leaders

Jessie Devost and Matthew Grant topped the field as they battled to a draw, both carding 5 under 51's. As a result of the tie Grant remains two points behind Devost in league standings at the half way mark of the season.

Grant got off to a fast start with birdies on two, three and four but Devost kept pace with birdies on two, four and five. He then took the lead with a rare birdie on the very tough sixth to post a 4 under 24 front 9.

On the back nine, Grant birdied 11 to pull even but Devost responded with two birdies, first on the brutally difficult 12th and then on 13 to take a two stroke lead into the final five holes. Grant clawed one of those strokes back with a birdie on 16 and then Devost put Grant right back in the game when he posted his only bogie of the round on 17. Hole 18 solved nothing as both finished with par.

Catherine LaMarche deserves special note as she posted the only birdie on 15 for the evening; take that gentlemen!

Here are the top ten in league standings after 10 weeks of play.
