Nicole Baldwin's rink has made the playoffs at the Dominion Club Curling Championships in Thunder Bay, Ont.

The rink, made up of Ladene Shaw, Helen Strong and Rhonda Horte, finished the round robin with a record of 4-2, and was relegated to scoreboard-watching last night.

Manitoba (6-0) beat Alberta (3-3) 9-7 in an extra end to prevent the possibility of a tiebreaking game between the Yukon and Alberta to determine the second seed in their pool.

The Baldwin rink joins Pat Paslawski's Yukon men's rink as the first two local teams to make the playoffs in the Dominions five-year history.

The Yukon women will face Saskatchewan (6-0) in the semifinal this afternoon. The Yukon men (5-1) will also face Saskatchewan (5-1) in their semifinal today. The finals take place tomorrow.
