Nicole Baldwin's Yukon rink has stormed out to a 3-1 record just three days into the Dominion Curling Club Championship at the Fort William Curling Club in Thunder Bay, Ont.
Nicole Baldwin's Yukon rink has stormed out to a 3-1 record just three days into the Dominion Curling Club Championship at the Fort William Curling Club in Thunder Bay, Ont.
The team rebounded from a tough loss to first-place Manitoba last night with a convincing 9-2 win over New Brunswick this morning.
"We may have taken our loss last night towards N.B. this morning,” Baldwin told the Star today.
The Yukon got off to an 8-0 lead through four ends today, before conceding their first point.
Baldwin said the team is "doing fantastic” and looking forward to their next game versus British Columbia this afternoon.
Last night, her team lost to Manitoba (4-0), despite tying the game 2-2 in the fourth end. Yukon conceded four points in the fifth and failed to score again.
Meanwhile, Pat Paslawski's Yukon men's rink is also sporting a winning record of 3-1 after defeating New Brunswick 7-2 in seven ends early this afternoon.
Paslawski's team beat Manitoba 5-3 last night to pick up their second win, after defeating Northwest Territories to kick off their tournament.
The men's rink will square off with B.C. later today.
