Arctic and Dene Games Arctic Winter Games team chosen
The Yukon Aboriginal Sports Circle has announced the young men and women that will represent the Yukon for Arctic and Dene games at the 2010 Arctic Winter Games.
The Yukon Aboriginal Sports Circle has announced the young men and women that will represent the Yukon for Arctic and Dene games at the 2010 Arctic Winter Games.
The final team was selected this weekend during the second round of trials.
The Dene team is made up of the following:
• In the juvenile girls category four young ladies will be heading the Grande Prairie; Natane Primozic, Teah Dickson, Taylor Vallevand and Madison Allen.
• The junior men include Jeffrey Diment, Nathanial Schafer, Bily Smarch and Daniel Frost-Reed.
• In the Junior female category Justine Benjamin, Meagan Blake, Elisha Sembsmoen and Laura MacKinnon will be going to the Games in March.
Trey Charlie and Jasmine Corothers will be alternates in the junior male and juvenile female categories, respectively.
The Arctic Sports team is made up of the following;
• Anna Rivard, Corey Baxter and Patty Wallingham for junior female;
• Tyler Wynnyk and Dustin Wilkinson will head to the games for the junior males;
• In the open male category, Tom Fulop, Jordan Howse, Myles Nakoyak and Ken Hubbard will be attending.
