AND THEY’RE OFF – Runners enter the trail after leaving the start line of the Vanier Run on Friday afternoon. The run featured 220 athletes from nine schools and they ran either three or five kilometres. As well, there was one student from Watson Lake and 11 from Carcross. Janet Clarke, one of the run’s organizers said ‘I’m going to go out on a limb and say this might be the most challenging’ of the school runs. The trail the racers follow featured steep hills, sand, and rocky areas. Clarke said it ‘was nice to see them challenge themselves’.
