Alkan Air wins high scoring U-16 soccer contest

Four players combined for Alkan Air's 10 goals on Tuesday in the U-16 Soccer League.

Four players combined for Alkan Air's 10 goals on Tuesday in the U-16 Soccer League.

The team won what turned into a high scoring affair that saw 16 balls sent into the back of the net.


Alkan Air 10, Woodhouse 6

Robin Stacey contributed nearly half of Alkan Air's scoring total, finishing with four goals, while Kyle Risby also played very well, netting a hat trick.

Dillon Vickerman added a pair of goals for Alkan Air and Garet Heynen netted the remaining goal for the team.

Fiona Azizaj was named as Alkan Air's MVP in the victory.

Ian Wintemute led all scorers on Woodhouse Business Consulting, sending three into the back of the net, while Adam Torgerson added a pair.

Robbie Borud also got in on the scoring for Woodhouse Business Consulting, finishing with one goal and Jessica Woodhouse was named as team MVP.


Energy North 9, Locksmith Services 5

Martin Sealy and Harold Risby combined for five goals on Energy North, while the team also received additional scoring support from Patrick Vaughan, Jack Lanigan, Robyn Fortune and Mac Potter.

Risby was named as the team's MVP for his great play.

Travis Pumphrey netted a hat trick for Locksmith Services, while Joaquin McWatters contributed the remaining two.

Casey McWatters was named as Locksmith Services' MVP.


U-7 Soccer League: Feb. 4

Soccer Shoppe 1, DHL Express 0

Both goaltenders were picture perfect for the majority of Wednesday's U-7 Soccer League contest between the Soccer Shoppe and DHL.

With two minutes remaining on the clock, Ben Shier put an end to his team's goose-egg, netting the game's first and only goal.

Austin Au was named as the Soccer Shoppe's MVP.


U-11 Soccer League: Feb. 2

Mic Mac Toyota Flamefighters 4, Coates Service Yukon Limited 1

Luka van Randen was an offensive rock for the Flamefighters, lighting it up on three occasions, while Emily Ross notched the remaining goal for Mic Mac Toyota. Ross was also named as MVP.

Simon Cash scored the lone goal for Coates Service Yukon Limited and Abby Hawes was named as team MVP.


Dirkbuilt Contracting 8, Goal Done Contracting 1

JJ Cannings had a great night for Dirkbuilt, scoring an incredible four goals, while the team's singles came from Ehsan Idrees, Tristan Rentmeister, Elias Sagar, and Peter Jacobs.

Quintessa Maltais was named as Dirkbuilt Contracting's MVP.

Dustin Muckosky netted the lone goal for Goal Done Contracting and Kelcy Armstrong won the team's MVP honours.


Coldwell Banker 7, Wintemute Electric 3.

Logan Harris finished with the most goals on Coldwell Banker, netting a hat trick, while the remaining scorers on the team were Graydon McDonnell, Anna Janowicz, Frejean Pourier and Yuranty Pourier.

The team's MVP was Logan Harris.

Scorers for Wintemute Electric were Sam Wintemute, Matthew Ng and Jude Lemoine. Ng was named as team MVP.


Underhill 10, Medicine Chest Pharmacy 3

Benjamin Grundmanis and Brayden Lafleur each scored three goals for Underhill, while Mustafa Syed netted two. Brandon Barrett and Spencer Panter also scored.
