Air North conquers Alkan

Willy McKenna led the Air North Jets with five goals and three assists as they destroyed Alkan Air 17-4 in Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League action Sunday.

Willy McKenna led the Air North Jets with five goals and three assists as they destroyed Alkan Air 17-4 in Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League action Sunday.

Ryan Kinney added three goals and four assists for Air North while Andrew Sim also notched a hat trick. Shawn Kinsella picked up a pair of goals and two assists while Greg Charlie also found the back of the net twice. Wesley Marsh had a strong game with a goal and five assists while Gerry Grant finished with a goal and an assist.

Brent Byers, Nathan Bingham, Richard Andrews and Leroy Wolfe provided the offence for Alkan.

Kluane Drillers 7

Environmental Dynamics 7

It was a complete team effort on both sides as Kluane Drillers settled for a draw with Environmental Dynamics.

Eric Magnuson potted a pair of goals for Kluane while Edwin Vanderkley, Mark Daniels, Duane Shewfelt, Pat Anderson and Mike Gau also scored. Vanderkley was credited with two assists while Daniels had one helper.

Hugo Bergeron replied for EDI with two goals while Kirk Price, Justin Halowaty, Jeremy Hookham, Pat Tobler and Dave Richard also lit the lamp. Price was awarded two assists while Halowaty finished with one assist.

Southern Tutchone Storm 7

Sports North 1

Scott Horsey was on fire for the Southern Tutchone Storm, collecting four goals and an assist as they burned Sports North.

Jesse Craig tacked on a pair of goals and an assist for the Strom while Marlon Allen also scored.

Terry Jackson claimed the lone goal for Sports North, unassisted.

Cinderwood Canucks 6

Alwarid & Associates 1

Franck Aucoin led the Cinderwood Canucks with three goals and two assists as his team overpowered Alwarid & Associates.

Ben Wondga added a pair of goals and three helpers for Cinderwood while Mark King picked up a goal. Randy Merkel recorded five assists.

Darrell Sturko had the lone goal for A&A.

Narrow Gauge Contracting 2

Dale Kulych posted three goals and two assists for Sports North as they downed Narrow Gauge Contracting.

Alain Desrochers added a hat trick for Sports North while Derrick Hynes claimed a goal and two assists. Darrell Pasloski had a goal and one helper.

Dan Macdonald and Byron Gilday hit the score sheet for Narrow Gauge.

Boston Pizza 6

Kopper Kings 4

Derek Johnstone had a big night for Boston Pizza, collecting three goals and an assist as they stuffed the Kopper Kings.

Trevor Twardochleb added a pair of markers for BP while Dean Mastrangelo netted one.

Larry Daigneault had two goals and an assist for KK while Danny Crawford notched two.

Mike Young chipped in four goals for Boston Pizza as they handed the Yukon Appliance Blues their second straight loss.

Ed Peart and Peter Chisholm each added two goals for BP.

Tony Radford, Joe Martin and Curtis Goodman replied for the Blues.

Air North Jets 16

Alcan Air 6

Wes Marsh dominated the offence for the Air North Jets, scoring five goals as they flew past Alkan Air.

Gerry Grant tacked on four markers for the Jets while Willy McKenna and Ryan Kinney each tucked away a pair. Greg Charlie, Ben Harper and Andrew Sim also found the back of the net.

Leroy Wolfe had two goals for Alkan, with singles from Peter Mostyn, Dean Fallagher, Ron Limoges and Joel Witten.

Southern Tutchone Storm 8

Yukon Appliance Blues 3

Ryan Gleason contributed three goals and two assists for the Southern Tutchone Storm as they pulled out a victory over the Yukon Appliance Blues.

Cody Joe added a pair of goals and an assist for the Storm while Scott Horsey, Shawn Kolak and Scott Hume also scored. Joe, Horsey and Kolak each picked up an assist.

Joe Martin, Jeff Monkman and Eric Kositsin hit the twine for the Blues, with an assist also going to Martin.

Kluane Drillers 7

Environmental Dynamics 3

Edwin Vanderkley recorded a hat trick and tacked on an assist for the Kluane Drillers as they skated past Environmental Dynamics.

Tyler Murray contributed two goals and an assist for the Drillers while Mark Daniels had a goal and two helpers. Duane Shewfelt also scored while Al Martinson finished with three assists.

Dave Richard, Bradley Barker and Justin Halowaty provided the offence for EDI.
