- Politicians live and die by their slogans We were discussing the theories of Marshall McLuhan in my English 12 class today. It wasn't a deep discussion, because they haven't been exposed to the man before and they haven't had a lot of time to think about what he wrote yet, but it was enough to bring up an idea that we first explored back in Grade 10 when we read Animal Farm together.
