• As the movement fizzles, what have we learned? In my column for Oct. 25, I wrote about the "occupy” movement that was gaining strength around the world. A lot has happened since, and it is worth taking another look at that effort.
• Suddenly, running for council is in fashion ( Editorial ) It's an encouraging sign for democracy that 14 people were ready to commit themselves to a numbing, early-winter campaign for the privilege of sitting on city council for less than a year.
