Zvonko Jovanovic

July 6, 1966 – June 9, 2022

It is with great sadness that the family of Zvonko Jovanovic announce his sudden and unfortunate passing on June 9, 2022.

Zvonko was born on July 6, 1966, in Vienna, Austria. In 1967, Zvonko came to Canada as a young child and remained in his new home for the rest of his days. Although Zvonko spent time elsewhere in the country, the Yukon has always been where his heart remained. Much of his youth was spent in Keno, Elsa, and Mayo, and his last two decades were spent in Whitehorse. Zvonko wore many different hats and took many different roles over the years; but most will remember him for his dry wit, his sarcastic comments, and his ever-present willingness to help those in need.

Zvonko is survived by his mother Borka Jovanovic, his sister Jelena Antonic, and his three sons Erik, Jordan, and Evan - as well as the countless lives he touched while we were luckily enough to have him with us.

An intimate graveside service was held for Zvonko on June 22 and was attended by family and close friends. The family will be holding a celebration of life for Zvonko at some point in the near future, where those who knew him will be able to share memories and stories of the times they shared with Zvonko.

This saddens me to great depths. As a child who didn't have a dad around much this man helped me make good memories when he , my mom and Dave would go to breakfast .

Rest in peace. What a great sense of humour you had.
