Ron Ward

September 1, 1943 - December 13, 2022

Ron Ward was born September 1, 1943 on the family farm near Craik , Saskatchewan. He died December 13, 2022 at the Whitehorse Hospital after struggling with Parkinson’s Disease for several years. He was 88. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Wendy, sons Steve and Mike, and grandchildren Brieanna and Declan.

He had various interests and occupations during his life. He worked for Forestry in Ft. Smith N.W.T, building fire towers and fighting fires. He also pastored a church there. For a few years he worked on the family farm and kept sheep at Tisdale, Saskatchewan. He did woodworking building cabinets, furniture, and weaving looms. He was a gifted craftsman. In Buffalo Narrows, Saskatchewan he worked as a pastor and missionary under Northern Canada Evangelical Mission. In 2007 he and Wendy moved to Whitehorse to be near the family. He spent the last 2 years of his life at Whistle Bend Place. Ron had an infectious smile, a quiet sense of humour and a kind heart.

We miss him.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, July 21st at 3pm, at Heritage North Funeral Home. Anyone who would like to come is welcome.
