Rhonda Ann McPhail

March 25, 1955 ~ November 20, 2022

It is with sadness that we share the news of the sudden and unexpected passing of Rhonda McPhail. Rhonda passed away on November 20th, 2022, at the age of 67, at home with her precious daughter Meaghan at her side.

Rhonda was born March 25th, 1955, in Whitehorse, Yukon, to John & Rose McPhail. She spent her childhood growing up in Haines Junction and Beaver Creek before returning to Whitehorse to attend and graduate from F.H Collins High School.

Rhonda graduated from the University of Victoria in the 1970s in BC before coming back to the Yukon, where she worked in various communities with Canada Customs, as well as a Teacher of Education. She shared warm memories from her days of teaching kids and always said how much she enjoyed and loved seeing them succeed.

After working for Canada Employment and Immigration, in both the Yukon and BC, she finally spent many years working for the Yukon Liquor Corporation before retiring in 2010.

Rhonda loved to travel and have new adventures. She was creative, intelligent, wise, fun-loving, had a great sense of humour, was very generous to everyone she met and enjoyed sharing her knowledge and gifts with others.

Above all other things, her family was the most important thing in the world. She was the rock of her family, always there to listen and willing to help in any way she could. Her inner light was solid, like the shining beam in a lighthouse; always there, never faded, never went out!

Rhonda is survived by her only child Meaghan; her spouse Bud; her three brothers Dan (recently deceased), Rod and Charlie; and two sisters, Donna and Susie, along with her many nieces & nephews.

As per Rhonda’s wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service.
