Craig Alfred Smith

March 12th, 1958 - December 20th, 2023

Craig passed away surrounded by his family and friends on December 20th, 2023, in his 65th year.

Loving father to Jennifer and Trevor. Craig will be remembered fondly by all his many friends and family in Whitehorse, Yukon and Vernon, B.C.

Craig was born in Prince George on March 12, 1958 and grew up in Vernon, B.C. where he spent his childhood swimming, skiing, horseback riding, playing hockey and all sports, which he excelled at.

In the summer of 1979, Craig made a road trip to Yukon, and stayed for the next 44 years. In the Yukon, Craig worked for YTG campgrounds, Gold mining in Dawson City, Nuway Crushing, Co-owner Marsh Lake Tents & Events Ltd and then worked for, and retired from, Yukon University after 15 years. Craig enjoyed time in the outdoors, working on a good project, helping a neighbour, and time with family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, December 30th from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the Marsh Lake Community Centre.
