Alice Nicholas

November 20, 1935 - June 28, 2021

On June 28th, 2021, at Copper Ridge Place in Whitehorse, following several health issues, Alice said that it was “Time to Say Goodbye.”

Born on November 20th, 1935 in Montréal (Québec), she moved to Yukon in the late eighties where she found peace and serenity. Alice will be remembered as an artist through her drawings, paintings and art nails.

Daughter of Marie and Nick Nicholas, she was the elder of a seven children family; Nick Jr. (deceased), Terry (deceased), Danny, Jerry (deceased), Ronny and Mary. She is survived by her two sons Robert and Darren Valade, her daughter-in-law Sophie Mailhot and her four grand-daughters; Émilie and Catherine Valade, Roxanne and Amélie Pagette-Valade.

We would like to express our dearest thanks to Mary Ann, Marguerite and Evy for their time and care provided to Alice in her last years of life. She was enjoying so much the presence of Marguerite’s puppies.

We would also like to express our sincere gratitude for the great care and attention our Mom received from Dr. Xiu-Mei Zhang that she was also calling a friend, and from the staff at Thompson Centre and Copper Ridge Place.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Messages of condolence are welcomed at https://www.heritagenorth.ca.
