Yukon musician Remy Rodden will present his “envirosongs” in a  #CanadaPerforms livestream event set for Wednesday (Earth Day).

He will also have the first official single off his upcoming family album, “Think About the Wild”.

The concert and the song are for a family audience, and the aim is to be educational as well as entertaining.

“Just me and a guitar, informative backdrops, and lots of enthusiasm!” Rodden said.

The concert is sponsored through the National Arts Centre’s Canada Performs series, which brings Canadian artists into people’s home via online streaming events on popular social media platforms.

The show will be full of fun, interactive and inspirational songs about wildlife, habitat, and human effects on the planet.

The show will begin at noon Yukon time on Facebook Live (www.facebook.com/RemyRoddenMusic/videos/1279388572250119/    or more simply  bit.ly/envirosongs-live).

A Facebook account is not required to attend.

The new song, “Let’s Get Drastic With Our Plastic”, will be released on all streaming services on Wednesday.

“Like all other artists, the current pandemic has drastically influenced my music career with cancelled tours and travel plans,” Rodden said.

“So I’m experimenting with the online approach to delivering my environmental messages through song.”

He will also perform a Yukon Arts Centre Kids Kreate online workshop on Friday for Yukon families.
