Yukon/Stikine Regional S.T.E.M. Expo goes Thursday
For three decades, students from across the Yukon and Stikine region of B.C. have gathered to present their projects highlighting problem-solving using Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (S.T.E.M.) at the regional expo.
For three decades, students from across the Yukon and Stikine region of B.C. have gathered to present their projects highlighting problem-solving using Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (S.T.E.M.) at the regional expo.
This year’s action will take place at the Mount McIntyre Recreation Centre in the Grey Mountain Room on Thursday.
The 36th annual event features entries from Grades 4 through 12 representing various schools from throughout the Yukon.
Students from Grades 7 to 12 will compete for the chance to move on to next month’s Canada-Wide Science Fair in Edmonton.
The public is welcome to attend a viewing of this year’s projects from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Thursday.
That will be followed by a science demonstration show from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., and the awards ceremony from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m.
