Details about the three latest known cases of COVID-19 in Whitehorse were released Friday afternoon, bringing the territory’s total to 54 cases.
There are currently 12 active cases in the Yukon, said Dr. Brendan Hanley, the territory’s chief medical officer of Health.
Case 52 is linked to a previous case, case 53 is linked to travel outside the Yukon and case 54 is under active investigation.
People may have been exposed to COVID-19 infection if they were at one of the following locations: Nov. 26 between 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.:
Real Canadian Superstore;
Wykes’ Your Independent Grocer; and
the Whitehorse liquor store.
Nov. 27:
The Black Sabbath and Deep Purple Tribute concert at The Local Bar, 206 Jarvis St., from 8:30 p.m. to closing time.
One of the following flights: Nov. 27:
Air Canada, 25, Calgary to Vancouver, 11:50 a.m. (MST)-12:15 p.m. (PST);
Air Canada 8887, Vancouver to Whitehorse, 1:35 p.m. (PST)-4:59 p.m. (MST).
Anyone in Whitehorse who is experiencing symptoms and has been at these locations should call the COVID-19 Testing and Assessment Centre at 393-3083 to arrange for testing.
People can also drop in at the drive-thru testing centre from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Centennial Motors on the Alaska Highway across from the airport.
Due to a high volume of calls, people may be asked to leave a number where they can be contacted. The centre staff will return their call.
Anyone not receiving a call within 24 hours should call back.
People in communities should contact their rural community health centre.
Anyone who does not have symptoms and is not notified by a health professional that they’re a contact of someone with COVID-19 may continue with their usual activities.
Anyone waiting for a test result must self-isolate until they receive their result.
People who were in contact with anyone who was at a location listed above are a secondary contact. Secondary contacts should monitor themselves for symptoms but do not need to self-isolate.
Everyone in Yukon should follow the safe six plus one, Hanley’s office said.
The plus one means wear a mask in all indoor public places.

TMYK@ Exactly! This is what I was saying about Baked Heads, carry on TMYK spreading your paranoid delusions about the Govt trying to control you. This is what the comment page is for.

@ Jayne The press conferences aren't about informing the public. They are about maintaining the façade of control and giving Silver and Hanley face time with the public.

Jane W@ Are you suggesting that we eliminate the opportunity for baked heads to comment about the Devil in Ottawa, the totalitarian take over of the Yukon, and the Global reset hiding behind the mandatory mask policy?

I think the yukon.ca website should be updated on a daily basis no matter if there is change or not. No need for a press conference every time just a simple website update.
