“We have a strong team that is going to hold the government to account and bring the concerns of Yukoners to the floor of the house,” said Dixon.

“We have a strong team that is going to hold the government to account and bring the concerns of Yukoners to the floor of the house,” said Dixon.

The official Opposition leader, who is the MLA for Copperbelt North, is the critic for the Executive Council Office; Public Service Commission; Environment; the Yukon Liquor Corp., the Yukon Lottery Corp.; the Yukon Cannabis Corp.; and early learning and child care.

Scott Kent, who represents Copperbelt South, is the house leader, and will shadow Education; Energy, Mines, and Resources; and Highways and Public Works.

Brad Cathers, the MLA for Lake Laberge, is the deputy house leader and the critic for Health and Social Services; Justice; Finance; and Agriculture.

Patti McLeod, the MLA for Watson Lake, is the party’s critic for Community Services; and the Yukon Workers’ Compensation Health and Safety Board.

Geraldine Van Bibber, who represents Porter Creek North, is the critic for Economic Development; Tourism and Culture; the Yukon Energy Corp.; and the Yukon Development Corp.

Yvonne Clarke, the new MLA for Porter Creek Centre, will keep an eye on the Yukon Housing Corp.; the Women’s Directorate; and the French Language Services Directorate.

Dixon has suspended veteran MLAs Stacey Hassard and Wade Istchenko from shadow cabinet membership because of the sexually explicit texts they sent out last Friday.

Woodcutter: Patti Eyre@ For the benefit of all and sundry JSM stands for Jesus Son of Mary, he has come to sort the wheat from the chaff, the goats from the sheep, the good from the evil. "the Lord knows they (YP) are the righteous ones." JSM is the Lord he is referring to. Everyone on the right is good everyone on the left is evil.

Yo Woodcutter - What or who are “flat feathers” voters? You must be a Liberal supporter because you make no sense and you do not know what you are talking about.

Wade and Stacey are following up on a request by Champagne/Aishihik Elders requesting A Public Inquiry into The Elijah Smith Hwy Accident.

You are the self proclaimed interpreter of JSM or are you like the TV preachers that claim they have the divine word of god speaking to them in their dreams?

Not only do we have the incoherent ramblings of JSM we must also contend with an echo effect from Tree Planter.

Maybe 4 in 19 voters think this is bad, however 6 in 10 are rejoicing at the continuation of social change and departure from the Yukon Party Old boys network. Imagine if the party that attracts the flat feathers voters were in power, we would regress at least two decades.

We are not screwed, we are blessed.

Dear Woodcutter - JSM spoke to Stalinist views and not Stalin himself. JSM is quite right that this is a bad thing and it is going to have disastrous consequences for Yukon society as a whole. But, we are pretty much trucked with the Liberal and NDP alliance federally. Come on Kate! Singh your song of relevance.

We are so screwed!

@JSM the past teaches that liberal democracies around the world triumphed over the despots of communist and fascists both. The past also teaches us that racism has its roots in conservatism and those of weak mind and character will give themselves to a demagogue that wraps themselves in religious righteousness and declares themselves to be Patriots above all others. We are watching that play out south of our countries border. Meanwhile your waving the same flag and repeating platitudes, and moving within your own reality where communists are under every desk and in every garbage can.

@JSM: whose past, yours? You're trying to say we're doomed to repeat your past if we don't learn about the bad and good deeds you've done? Please. Give your head a shake! And maybe learn from it?

JSM lol - You old war horses are always scared of the fears of the prior century. Wake up old fool, it's the 21st century and Stalin has been dead for over 70 years now. Your amount of delusion is incredibly high and I worry the right will act according to that instead of reality.

Worry instead of your fascist cohorts, running into the open arms of a movement that threatens our Canadian way of life.

Conservatives grovelling at the feet of the leftys again. Never having the backs of their fellow members. Why am I not surprised? Currie, I'm in your riding and voted for you, but I hoped for a leader not a groveler. Next election, I will just stay home and wifi. And don't expect anymore donations.

Looks like the Stalinist views of this Conservative party is going to amp the next round of sexually explicit texts! Oh wait, they all learned their lesson and are deeply sorry.

Great job Currie. Holding your own members accountable for their foolishness is a standup move and in doing so gave kept 5 conservative voters in my house very hopeful that the integrity you have shown during this tough time and the cabinet you have gathered around you will go a long way in holding the new NDP/LIBERAL PARTY which isn't even a real party accountable for any mass spending and look forward to watch you work. WELL DONE.

Hopefully they can keep the obscene spending of the Lieberal party in check. I am happy Currie did the right thing and punished the other MLA's for there misstep. Now they can move on and keep the other side in check as much as possible. This Coalition is no good for anyone given the Stalinist views of the Left. The amount of delusion is incredibly high and I worry the left will act according to that instead of reality.
