The Yukon’s seasonably adjusted labour force totalled 25,100 in December. That represents an increase of 500 compared to the 24,600 in the labour force in December 2021.
There were 23,800 employed in the Yukon in December, exactly the same number of those employed in December 2021.
The number of employed Yukoners fell to a low of 22,600 last March but rebounded swiftly.
The survey results show there were 1,200 Yukoners unemployed in December compared to 700 in December 2021, representing an increase of 71.4 per cent.
Expressed as a percentage, the unemployment rate hit 4.8 per cent in December, down one-tenth of a percentage point compared to November but down a full percentage point compared to the unemployment rate of 5.8 per cent last March.
The Yukon’s jobless rate reached a low of 1.7 per cent in August but rose to 2.5 per cent in September.

The government is inviting migrants over for the sole purpose of cheap labor, despite lacking the infrastructure to effectively serve their current population. It's almost as if they are saying you will accept stagnant wages and lower quality of life, or here's the door, see ya! Thanks for the taxes!
