Woman stands accused of manslaughter
Yukon RCMP have charged a 42-year-old woman with manslaughter in connection with a July 2021 death in Whitehorse.

On Wednesday, the Yukon RCMP Major Crime Unit and Historical Case Unit, along with other RCMP supporting units, arrested Berdina Hager.
She has been charged in the July 30, 2021 death of Phyllistine Hager, 27, police said Thursday.
Hager was scheduled to appear in territorial court Thursday morning.
“The Yukon RCMP continues to share our condolences with the family, and thank all of those involved for their patience as investigators worked toward this stage of the investigation,” police said.

I'm curious if these murders are reflected in the various studies conducted in support of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women ( MMIW) campaign. We have all heard that Every Life Matters, so do the victims in these situations fall through the justice cracks somehow? They are still dead, but does it matter who's hand did the deed? Friend or relative, Spouse or stranger?

Can you please address the argument and not the person. Contrary to the prejudicial nature of your comment people are not what they appear to be they are, quite simply, who they are which can be inferred from the reasons they have for what they do.
This societal level fanaticism to create categorical hierarchies as somehow necessitated by the press of equity is not just destabilizing it is racist, gendered, and it reinforces negative isms.
Seriously - What leader says to its people that it is okay to use racism to correct racism because we do not see it as racism. Silver, White, Mostyn et al.? Any ideas?

The categorical encasements predetermine your relative power status based on the categorical construct imposed by the person with the actual power to do so. Thus, when white males are excluded from participating in programs for “people” except whites that is exclusionary and absolutely anathema to the idylls of an inclusive society.
We need to return to return to a meritocracy predicated on knowledge, ability, and expertise because you are really screwing things up - Nobody believes you should be in power - You have taken it by force and you have forced your “will” in substitute for the “will” of the people which was your mandate!

Bail for her of course.
Bet that there were drugs and alcohol involved and she is very very sorry and will apologize and of course Gladue will play out and minimize a penalty if it's appropriate.
Our justice system is such an incredible failure.

If people don't know or understand this situation it was not deliberate. Drunk alcoholic decisions made two relatives fight which ended in tragedy. Alcohol and drugs are to blame here. There's not enough professional help in this crap Yukon for people suffering from addictions.

The two Hager’s threw me, as did a name before court appearance.
It is not anyone’s fault I missed that but mine, my bad.
But hey...the surviving Hager got bail...lovely eh?
At least we know lady justice still has her 10X monocle stuck in her head, in the pursuit of justice.

She is already out on bail. The court room janitor spent more time in court than she did. She’s been charged with manslaughter!

Ah yes, the alleged killer from Pelly Crossing. CBC reported this morning that our wonderful courts have granted her bail. I am sure her fellow FN members won't be too excited to hear that.
