Woman loses her life in single-car collision

A 31-year-old Whitehorse woman died Monday in a single-vehicle collision in the Marsh Lake area.

A 31-year-old Whitehorse woman died Monday in a single-vehicle collision in the Marsh Lake area.

Whitehorse RCMP, with assistance from the Yukon RCMP Traffic Unit and Yukon Coroner’s Service, are currently investigating the Alaska Highway fatality.

It was reported to police on Monday morning.

“Police are currently investigating the cause; it does not appear that other vehicles or people were involved,” police told the Star Tuesday.

“The vehicle, a grey four-door hatchback, was located on the Alaska Highway near Marsh Lake.”

Any witnesses who saw the fatal collision or vehicle are encouraged to contact the RCMP.

“Police will not provide the name of the deceased at this time in order to respect their and their family’s privacy,” police said.
