Woman injured after being dragged by truck

A 37-year-old woman was seriously injured after being dragged a short distance by a pickup truck last Saturday morning in the downtown area.

A 37-year-old woman was seriously injured after being dragged a short distance by a pickup truck last Saturday morning in the downtown area.

At 5:45 a.m., Whitehorse RCMP were called to assist Emergency Medical Services personnel at the scene near Seventh Avenue and Wheeler Street.

The woman was taken to Whitehorse General Hospital, police said Monday afternoon. She was later medevaced to Vancouver General Hospital for further care.

Whitehorse RCMP secured the scene for a number of hours while Yukon RCMP Traffic Services collected information.

The vehicle and driver involved have been located by police.

No charges have been laid, and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
