Whitehorse turns out for Travis Adams memorial ride

The number 55 was prevalent as thousands of people took part in Wednesday evening’s Memorial Parade for Travis Adams.

The number 55 was prevalent as thousands of people took part in Wednesday evening’s Memorial Parade for Travis Adams. It seemed all of Whitehorse turned out for the event, which took two hours to complete. Heavy equipment lined the Alaska Highway by the airport and two helicopters were hovering overhead with the number 55 on them. Adams, a 43-year-old father of three, died in a July 5 Alaska Highway collision south of Whitehorse.

What's with all you mean spirited thumbs down people. Regardless of whether you knew Travis, he was a beloved son, husband & father as well as a valued community member who lost his life.

I was in the Celebration Parade as I knew Travis and the rest of the Adams family well and felt the need to be there for support and respect for their loss. It was the most moving (no pun intended) display of Respect and Love I have ever witnessed firsthand. For those of you that felt the need to give this story a thumbs down... Get your head examined.

What a send off for you Travis. It is often said that when you give to the community the community will always give back. Travis you must have been a great community person and I know you are gone but you will never be forgotten. Wish auntie Shirley and myself could have been there to send you off but Covid 19 kept us away.

R.I.P. Travis. You will be sorely missed. Sincere condolences to your family.
