In the meantime, the R.C.M.P. have not provided the public with follow ups on a woman that was murdered last summer in Ross River. Not her name, how she died, under which circumstances etc. etc. Nothing. Why?

The problem is these people are staying at someones place and when they are caught I have never seen the RCMP charge anyone for hiding and harboring a fugitive. I'm sure that if a hard working law abiding citizen knowingly hid a fugitive in their house they would be charged (It's the law).

Currently in a bad way? WTF does that mean? Our criminal justice system is currently in a bad way and has remained there for some time.
Get some training on human behaviour because they sure present - non compos mentis.

Catch and release - It’s not a matter of waiting until they are ready for change but giving them the right wake-up call to do so.

Guncache - what do you mean “welcome to Canada Youssef??” For your information he was born in Canada and remained in Canada. He has his issues and yes the Justice s system should not let people who commit these offences in and out of prison, and should keep them until rehabilitated. My name is Muslim too! Does that not make me Canadian? Youssef has a family who love him and have done everything they can to support him, the comment saying they don’t want help is absolutely correct, they need to seek help on their own time. But just know these people have families who love them!!

I'll save my compassion for kids and teens who get caught up in a bad way. These three are all adults and there needs to be consequences related to the violation of our community standards and safety. If not now, then when?

To “ family with kids “. Yeah right! I get ya but that’s a tall order for some. For a lot of these people (I mean if you are in your late 30’s or 40’s) and pullin this type of shit off all the time it ain’t gonna stop. Your words are politically correct but for these people it just keeps going round n round. Sadly, they don’t want any help. It’s a broken system that just keeps these folks running through the revolving door. They keep screwing up, cops keep catchin em, judge keeps throwin em in the can and they keep gettin out to do it all over again. Waste of services and tax payers money! This doesn’t help these folks it enables them to continue on with this crap all the time .

Thank you! Star editors and Whitehorse RCMP for posting and actively trying to deal with these criminals and people who continuously put our community, family and children at risk. Thieves, drunk drivers and people engaged in criminal activities need to know that they can be exposed.

I also hope they all get the maximum penalties and the help they need to have more productive lives and contribute to society. Help does not include overly light sentences and slaps on the wrists. Help should include punishment for behaviours that put law abiding citizens at risk of harm of loss.
