I am soooooooo 'donated' right out, and the donation season is coming.
How much of my donation goes to administrative costs?
On average across the country, local United Ways spend 15 per cent of total revenue on fundraising and administration costs, which means that 85 cents of every dollar raised goes directly back to the community.
That's not too bad.. I researched United Way and it looks like it is a pretty good charity if someone is looking for a place to put some money. Folks should remember that charitable donations are also tax deductible, so make sure to save receipts.
