Vaccines set for young children
The Yukon government is expanding the COVID-19 vaccine eligibility to children between the ages of six months and five years.

The move follows the recommendation of Dr. Sudit Ranade, the territory’s new chief medical officer of health.
Health Canada has approved the Moderna Spikevax COVID-19 vaccine for children in that age group, and it’s supported by the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI).
The vaccine for this age category will also be a two-dose primary series.
The second dose should be administered eight weeks after the first.
Children between the ages of six months and five years will get a dose of 25 micrograms each, which is half the dose authorized for children between the ages of five and 11.
“If your child has recently been infected with COVID-19, it is recommended they wait three months after symptoms started or after testing positive before starting or completing their primary COVID-19 vaccine series,” the government said in a statement released Friday afternoon.
“Vaccination continues to be the best protection against COVID-19. Getting vaccinated not only protect ourselves, it protects our loved ones and our community. Vaccines are safe and effective for everyone, including children.”
Planning is currently underway, and appointments are expected to start the week of July 25 if COVID-19 vaccines for this age group arrive in the territory as scheduled.
Online appointments are expected be available to book starting Thursday.
Whitehorse residents will be able to book their appointment on Yukon.ca/appointments, while people living in rural Yukon can call their local health centre for appointments.
“We are very pleased to see vaccines approved for our youngest Yukoners, and we are working with our federal partners to make them available as soon as possible,” said Health and Social Services Minister Tracy-Anne McPhee.
“Vaccination remains our best protection against the most serious harms of COVID-19.
“Throughout the pandemic, families have had to deal with daycare closures, missing school, not being able to see loved ones and disappointing event cancellations,” McPhee added.
“Now that these safe and effective vaccines are available, I know they will be welcomed by many parents who are anxious to better protect their children from COVID-19.”
Ranade called vaccination against COVID-19 “essential to protect our littlest ones and their families from the disease.
“The upcoming availability of the new vaccine for children under five is great news, and I encourage parents and caregivers to speak with their family physician, or other trusted medical provider, if they are unsure about their choice to immunize.”

@Anie, learn how to read slowly and carefully for comprehension instead of beaking-off to show ignorance. I specifically stated "developer of the MRNA vaccine technology" and Dr. Malone made no claim as " to having invented the vaccine".

@ Anie - I have my reservations about Malone and I don't agree with him on everything, but he's a vaccinologist and virologist with a lengthy resume, regardless of his role in mRNA. He's also co-developing a traditional vaccine for SARS-CoV-2. So it's nonsensical to imply he's an anti-vaxxer or doesn't hold a professional opinion.

Most countries in Europe recommends not giving the moderna vaccine to persons under 30 years old. Even the UK does not recommend the moderna shot for under 12.
There is no evidence the benefit outweigh the risks for this group.

Only a 1 in 5000 chance of damaging your child's heart with myocarditis to maybe protect them from a virus that is less risky than the vaccine.
It is criminal to knowingly poison your child! If you aren't doing your own research, read the Pfizer documents, read the info sheet provided with your jab, look at Israel and the UK. Start doing your research now before you do something you will regret.

I am in my 50's and have lived with a MMR vaccine injury since age 5. I was partially disabled by age 30, fully disabled by age 45. I live with many health complications. I do not drink, smoke do drugs, etc. I would not wish this on my greatest enemy. We now live in a new era of vaccines that present greater risk than ever before. Ask yourself why on earth these folks are pushing these vaccines relentlessly, knowing full well they do not work. The so-called science is flawed and untruthful. There is an agenda behind this push for vaccines! Now for young ones as young as 6 months old? Keep those needles away from the children!

It didn't take long for Mr. Ranade's true colors to show.
Vaccinating children and infants for covid have many short term side effects for this age group which covid is virtually a non issue.
A group of Israeli doctors, a few month ago, signed a letter of protest in vaccinating children warning of unknown long term effects. They could include their reproductive systems and fertility. The short term side effects are very under reported.
Why do we need to experiment with our children?
Big pharma profits keep pushing us for more and more. The Liberals in Ottawa have highly subsidized 3 covid manufacturing plants in Quebec and their investors want their lucrative returns.
Mr Ranade and Ms. McPhee are dancing to Ottawa's tune.
