Vaccination clinic rules change again
The Whitehorse COVID-19 vaccination clinic is now open to Yukon residents aged 60 years and more.
The Whitehorse COVID-19 vaccination clinic is now open to Yukon residents aged 60 years and more.
The change was announced Tuesday morning via social media on the Yukon government websites.
It’s the second change to the eligible ages in less than a week following controversy over the lack of people signing up for appointments over the Internet and telephone.
Last weekend, the government changed the eligible ages from 70-plus to 60-plus.
Many of the appointment slots are still going unfilled, creating the opportunity to expand the vaccine process.

I heard about this a few days ago. As I am just over 60, I signed up right away. They will vaccinate me on the first day of 60+ vaccinations -- February 1.
Why am I getting the shot? I want my freedom back! I want to travel. I want to open the Yukon up to tourists again. I know that there is no clear promise of things opening up yet, but I also know that what's holding things up is not enough of us being vaccinated.
My call to all that are eligible -- get vaccinated, if not for your health, then for your freedom!

As most governments (any party) are not well known for delivering quality customer service, I applaud how these policy rules are being ammended due to the public's feedback. Also during a run-up to an election it is important to demonstrate Liberal listening skills so they might match the advertising saying they listen - but the open and accountable bit still needs some major work.

I just hope they're putting in storage the second dose for those that took the first one and not giving it out in the hopes that the Feds will send them more.

I wish politicians would just stay out this and let health care workers deal with it. Politicians mess up health care workers jobs as I have been told by a lot of them over the last tree months.

Sounds like not much uptake, on our way to herd immunity!
