Twelfth Yukoner dies from COVID

Dr. André Corriveau, the acting chief medical officer of health, reported another death of a Yukon citizen from COVID-19.

By Whitehorse Star on November 19, 2021

Dr. André Corriveau, the acting chief medical officer of health, reported another death of a Yukon citizen from COVID-19.

The fatality, reported late Thursday afternoon, brings the total to 12 since the first death was reported in October 2020.

No further details were provided as to where the person resided, whether he or she had been vaccinated, and had any contributing underlying health conditions.

Territorial data said Thursday there were 166 active cases of COVID-19 in the territory. That figure was updated to 171 this morning.

Thirty-two of those cases are new since 7 a.m. Thursday. There have been 1,381 known cases since the pandemic began.

“I am very sad to report this loss,” Corriveau said.

“To see another Yukoner lose their life to COVID-19 is heartbreaking. My sincerest condolences go out to the family and friends of this individual.

“Out of respect, we will not be releasing any additional information.”

Corriveau is sitting in for Dr. Catherine Elliott for two weeks.

@Eyeroll oh clever... got to love liberals (you) assuming things, such as actually having FB. Sure do love to talk without actually saying anything at all.. I'm merely pointing out simple facts, you are insulting me, which I guess is the highest form of jealously.. Psychology101 right?

@Roy

Your claim that "ivermectin . . . have no evidence they work" is patently false.
There are plenty of studies to show ivermectin works. However, the media's preferred "experts" claim there is insufficient evidence.
Still, it is one thing to say "there is insufficient evidence" and quite another to say "there is no evidence".

Stop spouting falsehoods.

Perhaps we have "followed the science" far enough?
The fake "Science" we are following seems better at creating new problems for us than it is at solving problems we already have.

Does it really seem a good idea to boost the insanity at this point by shoving gene "therapy" into our kids?

“cancer is there because of an immune system that doesn't work”
Wow son. You must have finished with top honours in your class at Facebook Doctoring school. Have you informed the World Health Organization of your ground breaking discovery?

I see a noble prize ( not to be confused with the Nobel Prize) in your future.

DL - that is not true. Staff that have been let go at hospitals were using therapies that have *not* been shown or proven to help at all. Hospitals have a list of approved medications for approved use - you'd be first in line to sue your doctor if they went to the pet store and bought medications there and gave them to your loved one and caused harm. These treatments (hcq / ivermectin etc) have no evidence they work - none. Facebook/youtube medical knowledge is meaningless.

What kind of treatment is provided at the hospital for covid patients? Does anyone here know?

In other Canadian jurisdictions, doctors who used therapeutics that proved efficacious for treating covid have been dismissed from hospital privileges. It's either promote the covid vax, or get booted out.

@SunshineA that makes ZERO sense.. cancer is there because of an immune system that doesn't work, anyone can get hit by a bus, kids, adults, disabled, gay, straight, sick or healthy. So when you have an immune system that's already severely weakened, of course you are way more likely to get another virus, so, again, did they die from covid, or with it...

The one who just died-unvacxed on Nov 21, 2021 at 10:44 pm

The one who just died was an anti vaxer. Friend I grew up and a lifelong Yukoner, leaving his child behind. Under 50 or just 50. Get your vaccine. Your stubborn anti government, anti liberal views are not worth dying for. It's not about the government or fighting for your right--it's about staying alive with this rotten pandemic killer all around us. RIP my friend.

Remember: we must protect the confidentiality of the deceased and not release any information. If they're unvaccinated though, you should know that. And Boston Pizza has to know your vaccine status.

This Yukon Liberal government is very China-like: they tell you only what they want you to know, and if they don't tell you, you can accurately assume it's something they don't want you to know.

They have also completely failed on the idea of "healthy families", with no more walk-in service available in the Yukon, ODs skyrocketing, homes completely unaffordable, and no transparency with parents about severe abuse issues going on in school.

If there is a pandemic, it is a pandemic of credibility and is at its most virulent best amongst gov health officials, the complicit medical community and the corporate media.
Does anyone out there take a single media release as unquestioned fact at this point? Credibility is like virginity: once it's gone it's difficult to get it back!

@Casa Loma

I also know the 11th person from Dawson. He was a cancer patient. But Covid most certainly killed him.
To put it another way, if someone with cancer gets hit by a bus, you wouldn't say they died of cancer - you would say they got hit by a bus. Same thing here. We don't know how much longer he might have lived, but he would certainly be alive today if he hadn't caught the virus.

@ Unions should be made opt in on ....ever think there’s a large percentage of the population that disagrees with mandates? This isn’t about vaccination it’s about discrimination and removal of rights of those who have chosen not to take a vaccine. If you agree with this mandate you are hypocrite if you say you are pro choice in any other way. But it doesn’t really matter what you think anyway, the change has started, tide has turned in favour of the public who disagree with mandates and lawsuits are taking over.

Just to calm the storm your golden saviour, Pfizer, lost a court battle in 2009 and paid damages of 2.3 billion for fraudulent misrepresentation of facts regarding products they manufacture. Did they learn anything? Who knows.

"Out of respect".
If this is respect, what is the excuse for the complete and utter lack of respect for the deaths of the unvaccinated. Those people were publicly shamed for not accepting the best possible protection. How do you think the families of those people feel, thinking they could have done more.

Now is an important time to share the information. Were they on deaths door and covid tipped them over the edge just like the flu would have? Were they double jabbed and the efficiency waned? Were they boosted like number 11? Are we in a pandemic of the boosted?

These deaths and the efficiency of the jabs is why society is being split in two, it is why peoples lives are being ruined. How about some respect for the intelligence of public who or being coerced and punished, all justified by this withheld information. Is this the science we should be trusting?

The CMO's silence on relevant facts, while claiming a 'covid death', leads us to conclude that the deceased was most likely old and frail with serious pre-existing conditions, AND had been vaxed. There, fixed it for you. Because if you're going to remove our rights and mandate a risky covid vax on us, the very least you could do is give us the facts to justify those measures. No facts, no justification.

Has anyone else received a note on their windshield asking them not to declare their vaccination status by Nov.30th? What a joke. I wonder who paid to have this flyer circulated around. My bet is one of the unions under Ted Hupe or Steve Geick. They are fighting hard on behalf of unvaccinated employees and against the wishes of the majority they represent. No surprise that they are both on the NDP political donation list year after year.

I might start a campaign from my office to stop the union from forcing me to pay my dues just so you can use that money to fight against my right to a safe workplace. YEU and YTA, your organizations are a joke!

The FDA had promised full transparency for the Pfizer ‘vaccine’ approval. Now that a group of doctors and scientists have requested to see the data, the FDA is asking the court to give it 55 YEARS to release the data. The degree of open corruption in our society is heart breaking. https://www.reuters.com/legal/government/wait-what-fda-wants-55-years-process-foia-request-over-vaccine-data-2021-11-18/

This continued obfuscation 'in the name of privacy' is entirely political in nature; ask yourself why meaningful indicators (partial/fully vaccinated, actual CAUSE of death, age, co-morbidities... you know IMPORTANT DETAILS) are being left out.

Up 101 Down 41

North_of_60 on Nov 19, 2021 at 3:35 pm

When we see "No further details were provided as to where the person resided, whether he or she had been vaccinated, and had any contributing underlying health conditions.", then we can be sure that the truth would not support the LIBgov "Get the Jab" campaign or the ridiculous vaccine mandates for employment.

“Out of respect, we will not be releasing any additional information.” One more thing, tell us why this is not respectful. Was it out of respect that you provide information on all other deaths? I'm asking for the leader of the Yukon Party to find these answers.

"No further details were provided as to where the person resided, whether he or she had been vaccinated, and had any contributing underlying health conditions".
This non transparency is really starting to irritate a lot of Yukoners. There is absolutely no reason why all available information shouldn't be given to the public. The information could be very useful to us in helping us to avoid getting the virus. That poor soul that was found deceased last week in the Mt. Sima area was identified almost right away including the cause of death. But keeping relevant information from the public of this virus is making the citizenry very suspicious about the government's real intent about this p(l)andemic. It has to stop. At least tell us why you are keeping this information from us so we can understand.
