Dr. Catherine Elliott, the acting chief medical officer of health, reports 13 new cases of COVID-19 from noon Monday to noon Wednesday.

Eleven are in rural Yukon communities.  Two out-of-territory residents were diagnosed in the Yukon.

The number of active cases was 39 as of Wednesday afternoon.

The total number of confirmed Yukon cases since March 22, 2020 is 736.

Out-of-territory individuals who are diagnosed in the Yukon are counted in the active count but not in the Yukon total case count as they are counted in their home jurisdiction.

Since March 22, 2020, 694 people have recovered.

Anyone experiencing symptoms in Whitehorse should call the COVID-19 Testing and Assessment Centre at 393-3083 or book online to arrange for testing.

People in communities should contact their rural community health centre.

Just wondering on Sep 30, 2021 at 11:01 am

How long are these so called health official's & politicians plan on beating this dead horse? Until they completely destroy what's left of the Yukon? Is this like the Highlander where they just keep going until "in the end, there can be only one". The one who hits the Russian Roulette jackpot with the immortal vaccine?
This whole entire scamdemic is illegal. Did you know that Justin T never declared the emergency as per parliamentary procedure which includes going through the house debating & voting on it? He just declared on his own like a petty tyrant dictator. Therefore all these mandates are illegal. Mandates are not laws. The clause in the "Charter of Rights" can not be used to override our rights (along with the fact the Charter was never voted in by all provinces & territories). The Bill of Rights overrides the Charter & nowhere in the Bill can our rights be over ridden by an emergency order. The CEMA cops are illegal & have no right or authority to enforce anything. Nothing but a bunch of brown shirts. So wake up & take off the mask & don't let them force a vaccine if you don't want it. If you want a mask & shot because you believe the propaganda then by all means go do it.

@Woodcutter
You are a case study in neo-liberal personality disorder. You begin your post with a logically disconnected appeal to emotion and roll straight into a ridiculous analogy. Society is not a herd of cattle. You and the authoritarian idols you worship are not our keepers.

Could somebody please require the Health department to release the ages of the eight deaths alongside all co-morbidities?
It's a good thing to keep Yukoners informed obviously, but the partial nature of the reporting supports concern about the alacrity with which public health authorities resorted to coercion to manage this crisis - which hasn't been an epidemic for months now let alone a pandemic. They've damaged literally decades of institutional credibility with their arrogance and incompetence, and we are all going to pay the price for this when a real pandemic - one with a far lower survival rate than 98.3 percent, and well over 99.5 percent for the under-60s - strikes.
Regardless the real concern now isn't Covid but flu. All this mask wearing and social distancing has seriously compromised immune systems which is going to make all of us far sicker this year with flu than we have been for decades.

Perhaps some day soon our lapdog national media will tally up all the Canadians who became COVID infected due to an expensive and useless election.
For many the cost was much, much more than some $610 million.

Woodcutter: What child has died from Covid up here? And we are not animals. I was raised on a farm in Northern Ontario as a child. When our livestock was vaccinated, we humans didn't get in line. So please, be at least a little realistic.

@bozojoe

I guess the pain, of loosing a child, is not something you have had to endure. Perhaps if you had that experience of such loss, you would be singing a different tune.
Herd immunity is just plain contoured double speak. A farmer does not sit back and watch disease go through the herd, he/she vaccinates and medicates, isolates and culls.

Juniper Jackson,
In the Yukon? I doubt it.

So far everybody has survived except 8, who's deaths are still questionable. So, what's the panic. Let's just treat it like another flu epidemic. Remember, those who got it and recovered, now have immunity. So why get all upset over it. Rejoice.

Hey Juniper...yes.
Now that PM Blackface, team SS wasted near a billion on an election...
...and I suggest we have already a one party system in what remains of Canada.
I say by Christmas, actually before then.
Given that liberals seem to have a real hate on for western tradition and all things Jesus.
All the while, embracing the seventh century and all the sycophants of.
Shall we start a pool to see when the next lockdown here begins juniper?

I can't speak for anyone else, but I really don't care about this anymore. I actually never did in the first place. FEAR, FEAR, FEAR. Give up your rights. Blah blah blah blah. That's all I see this as.

Hmmmm. Do I see another 'lockdown' in our future?
