Another body has been found in the Yukon River system, marking the third one to be discovered in as many weeks.

At around 8:10 p.m. Tuesday, Whitehorse RCMP and fire crews were called to Schwatka Lake after a person jogging along the Miles Canyon Road saw a body floating in the lake near the float plane docks, Sgt. Ross Milward said this morning.

The body was about two to three metres away from shore and found to be that of an adult male. The body has not yet been identified, said Milward.

Police will likely use the physical description and fingerprints to identify the body, but could also look at dental records and DNA if necessary, said Milward.

An autopsy has been ordered by the Yukon coroner's office to determine the cause of death, he said.

The body of 34-year-old Uklette David Ritchotte was recovered from Lake Laberge on June 4, less than a week after the body of 27-year-old Curtis Garret Woods was recovered from the Yukon River along First Avenue on May 30.
