Territory’s total COVID-19 case count surpasses 900
Dr. Catherine Elliott, the Yukon’s acting chief medical officer of health, has reported 11 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 from noon Monday to noon Wednesday raising the collective two-year total to more than 900.

Ten are Whitehorse residents, while one is in Watson Lake, her office said late Wednesday afternoon.
At that point, the number of active cases was 69.
The total number of confirmed cases in Yukon residents since March 2020 is 902.
People from out of the territory but who are diagnosed in the Yukon are calculated in the active case count but not in the Yukon total case numbers, as they are counted in their home jurisdiction.
Since March 2020, 845 people have recovered, while 10 have died.
Meanwhile, Yukon Communicable Disease Control (YCDC) has issued the following COVID-19 exposure notice:
• Better Bodies Gym, Whitehorse, 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. last Friday; 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. last Saturday; 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday; and 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
If you were at this location, self-monitor for 14 days from your last visit and get tested if you develop any symptoms.
The other exposure notification is for Grade 3B students and staff at Christ the King Elementary School for Oct. 21 and Oct. 26.
All people involved have been advised directly by YCDC via notification letters.
Elliott continues to remind everyone who has symptoms to get tested, no matter where they are located.
Anyone experiencing symptoms in Whitehorse should call the COVID-19 Testing and Assessment Centre at 393-3083 or book online to arrange for testing.
People in communities should contact their rural community health centre.

902 cases, 9 deaths. Survivability is hovering at a perilous 99.99 per cent. Hanley left Elliot with a whole truckload of boosters that might be hard to move. I've always had good luck on Kijiji.

Most of the "cases" are people who are already "vaccinated", but that fact is conveniently omitted from the public announcement. We can be sure if most of the "cases" were "unvaccinated" they would be repeating that numerous times in the story.

That is a lot of cases. Who knew the same thing would happen here that happened in literally every other country with high vax rates? Time for more shots I guess, what's it been 6 or 8 months? Will taking the booster be a virtuous as the initial shots, or will everyone have a sense of reality this time around?
Are we still blaming the unvaxxed? Are we still exiling them from society? Will we exile those that don't take the booster? Are we all beagles?

@mike, maybe you can give actual figures rather than assumptions. For round numbers, the Yukon is 80% vaccinated. But the 20% of the unvaccinated make up over 80% of the positive covid results.

Everyone better educate themselves real quick. This liberal government has spewed out repetitively how deadly this virus was and how getting vaccinated would save your life. Well hows that working out - the ICU is not filled with non vaccinated people it is 50/50 and the number of people dying from this virus are starting to climb for the vaccinated.

Fearmongering. The relevant question is, just how sick are these 'cases'. Most of them have mild or no symptoms. They won't tell us what comorbidities those 10 who died had. Right there it's an indication they all had serious pre-existing conditions, and were old and frail.
Experts say that covid is now endemic. There's no point for all that testing and counting. Spare our limited health care resources, and stop that testing with PCR tests that can't even tell the difference between the common cold, covid, or the flu.
