A Whitehorse man is currently in custody and will face a charge of robbery and two counts of breaching probation.

On Nov. 28, an employee at a downtown bar reported the robbery, stating a man entered the bar around 8 a.m. when he was opening for the day.

The man struck him on the head and grabbed the cash – an undisclosed amount – from the bar counter.

While the employee tried to get it back, the man wrestled it away and left the scene.

Police aren't releasing the name of the bar.

Richard Linklater, 30, will appear in court Wednesday.
