Something Else Entirely wins River Quest

Team 114, Whitehorse’s Something Else Entirely, a C-4 crew, has won the 2022 Yukon River Quest.

Team 114, Whitehorse’s Something Else Entirely, a C-4 crew, has won the 2022 Yukon River Quest. They arrived at Dawson City this afternoon at 1:08:12.

They finished the race in a total time of 49:08:12.

At press time there was a tight race between second and third.

In second is www.tyreorder.com Elite Team, a Tandem Kayak team from Estonia.

They arrived at Thistle Creek at 6:51 a.m. today. They, too are on their way to Dawson, with an estimated arrival time of 2:41 p.m. today.

Continuing to hold down third place is Team 111, Pagunpogo, a Men’s Voyageur crew. They arrived at Thistle Creek at 6:58 this morning. Their ETA in Dawson is 2:42 p.m.

Team 147, the Hatchet Lake Men’s Voyageur crew from the Denesuline First Nation in Saskatchewan, holds down fourth place. They were scheduled to arrive at Thistle Creek at 7:53 this morning, but that remained to be confirmed. Their ETA in Dawson is 5:14 p.m. today.

Rounding out the top five is Team 113, the Soggy Bottom Boys, a tandem canoe team from Whitehorse. They arrived at Thistle Creek at 9:48 this morning and are estimated to be in Dawson at 7:02 p.m.

Of note is Team HUUM SAUNA Team Estonia, a Women’s Tandem Kayak from Estonia, close behind in sixth place. They arrived at Thistle Creek at 9:50 a.m. and are expected in Dawson City at 7:08 p.m.

Many of the Yukon River Quest teams were heading toward Dawson City at press time early this afternoon.

Very cool indeed if they could pull that one off Snowball, even more so in light of the fact the Yukon river doesn’t come anywhere close to Fairbanks. Maybe they could portage the canoes the last 200 km or so into Fairbanks.

So it ends in Dawson an not in Fairbanks Alaska, it would been cool if they did it that way.
