The ski season at Mount Sima wrapped up over the weekend with Simapalooza.
Sam Oettli, the general manager at the hill, said they are lucky to have a season compared to the rest of the country.
“There’s a lot of places that couldn’t have a season or had a very short one, we’re very thankful for where we are and the community and the support to make it happen. It was a fantastic season.”
The season was one of the biggest for operational days due to hosting more school groups coming due to fewer indoor activities available because of COVID-19.
“This is the latest I have ever seen Palooza happen; a big thanks to the community; we’re a community-driven hill and without people showing up and supporting us, we can’t do the awesome stuff we do,” Oettli said.
“I keep telling my team they have put on a long and awesome show for this entire season.”
Sima legend Tall Paul Hearn said, “I think everybody had the best season ever, the best snow, some of the best riding days and great spring skiing.”
While the big draw, the Slush Cup, could not be held, skiers and boarders had the usual fun competitions.
