AN ALL-LIBERAL ENCOUNTER – Premier Sandy Silver meets with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau this morning on Parliament Hill.

Silver, Trudeau pore over several issues

Fresh off his ride to Toronto to mark Air North’s inaugural flight on the new route, Premier Sandy Silver trundled off to Ottawa to meet with the prime minister this morning.

By Tim Giilck on May 13, 2022

Fresh off his ride to Toronto to mark Air North’s inaugural flight on the new route, Premier Sandy Silver trundled off to Ottawa to meet with the prime minister this morning.

In a news release, Silver described his session with Justin Trudeau.

“We discussed a number of Yukon priorities, including Arctic sovereignty, critical minerals and climate change, community infrastructure, health care and mental health,” the said.

“Those items all fall on the heels on what was discussed earlier this week at the Northern Premiers Forum held in Whitehorse.

“This week, the northern premiers issued a pan-territorial statement on climate change, calling on the federal government to work with the territories to address the unique impacts of climate change in the North,” Silver added.

“We discussed how Yukon communities are being directly impacted by climate change and emphasized the need for immediate action.”

Silver added in the release, “We agreed that Arctic sovereignty comes first and foremost from the people of the North, and we re-affirmed our commitment to work together to support healthy, vibrant, thriving and safe communities.”

While heavy on generalities and big-picture sentiments, the release was decidedly short on any details as to how any of these items would be implemented.

“I discussed the importance of increased federal health care funding to support the health and well-being of Yukoners,” Silver said.

“The Government of Yukon remains committed to build a people-centred health care system that will better meet the needs of Yukoners and improve health outcomes throughout the territory.”

The premier concluded, “I look forward to our continued partnership with the federal government to advance these initiatives and build health, vibrant and thriving communities in the Yukon.”

That’s one polluting photo op.

You just know those masks are coming off as soon as the cameras stop filming.

@stephen
Of course, morality is immutable regardless of who is in power. You're correct in identifying the bigger picture but the fact of the matter remains that the federal liberals are the ones in control (ha!) of the situation, and the ones insisting on continuing the travel restrictions so they will be held accountable for the results of their mandates, which the conservatives are actively working towards overturning. There are stadiums down south packed with 20,000+ people, but letting an unvaccinated person on the plane will somehow collapse our health care system? Nonsense. Trudeau way overleveraged, Canada holds the #1 world record for most vaccines purchased, so of course he wants to force them on people or his shares will suffer.

Personally, I would. Currently all our major political parties are globalist. I detested Stephen Harper. Trudeau is worse. A weak aristocratic child is often a vessel for tyranny.
Think about the corporations and billionaires you mention. What is their relationship to big government? How much political power do they wield? Does concentrating power in our government restrict or enable the concentration of wealth? I think they go hand in hand. Both are highly subject to corruption. Big government is the fertile soil that corporate monopoly grows in. English Empire gave rise to the East India Co, Hudson Bay Co. Today the WEF/BIS/UN international political framework gives rise to global/multinational corporate behemoths that could not exist otherwise. There is no ism that solves human nature. Expanding the taxation power of corrupt governments does not solve this. They will tax their enemies and loop hole their friends, always and everywhere. The best we can do is attempt to limit the scope of the problem by reducing the concentration of power.

The coming collapse is not limited to economic values but also social values and goverance, and you're 100% correct -this is an international concern and not just for Canada's citizens. Those who speak of it are labelled conspiracy theorists in an effort to discredit their views and opinions that run counter to the WEF, WHO, UN and on-side governments and the media they bought to help promote their advance to the Great Reset. Understandably many are hesitant to believe the scope of changes that are being proposed to redefine global goverance, economics and social structures common around the planet. I could post a number of URLs that will take you to articles trying to inform we - the great unwashed - about what the Davos elitists have in plans for us, but I encourage you to do your own research, there's lots of information out there. Read some and decide for yourself. I would suggest by starting with the World Economic Forum (WEF) plans for the future. https://www.weforum.org/great-reset.
Keep in mind the architects of this coup are the unelected, self-appointed global wealthy who say they are making these draconian changes to support sustainability and deal with climate change - it's a con job, they are after control of industry, population dynamics, agriculture and money of course. No democratic government on the planet has campaigned on changing our present governance systems to their Globalist governance system still in development, but believe them when they say "You will own nothing and you will be happy." Still no info posted on what will make us happy in the New World Order they are planning.

stephen on May 16, 2022 at 3:04 pm

Interesting. Simple question to all these people that are so negative. If it was a CON government that were making all these mistakes you perceive would you still be complaining?

I could point out other things, but your comments speak volumes of misconception, misleading information, etc. I am not saying our governments are not doing it or that the present government is making mistakes but you are all pointing at the governments and not corporations or the billionaires who are raking in record profits and not demanding our governments at all levels start taxing their huge profits and plug tax loop holes (not cut taxes).

The photo is interesting. Two triple, possibly quadruple, vaxxed people wearing masks. I have seen dozens of photos of Trudeau in Ukraine with no mask. Ukraine has Europe's lowest vaccination rate. Maybe Trudeau is just more comfortable with his WEF buddies. His young global leader friend and fellow actor Zelensky will be speaking at WEF's Davos Summit this month.

Seriously? Moose on May 15, 2022 at 2:26 pm:

We are watching the same patterns of societal disruption and decline as we have seen occur historically, many, many times over in many different societies - FFS?!?! Are you serious?

Not only that they are telling you straight to your face that they are moving everyone to the “great reset” wherein you will own nothing and be happy while Trudeau advances his love affair with “basic dictatorships”.

Trudeau himself is a caricature of such declines with his laser sighted focus on the division of our society into discrete, hierarchical, intersectionalities of social privileges at the expense of others.

But it is also common sense if one follows the licentiousness of Liberalism to its regressively, logical conclusion.

Eleven sentences on Silver & Trudeau meeting to decide on Yukon’s special role in destroying Canada? You had manifold more lines in your editorial on how we should all take the Covid vaccine to destroy ourselves. Thanks, Tim. Please see the Pfizer document dumps. Like all dumps (vaccines) they’re worth a read (shot). Why the f*** did you urge people to take it, anyway? What divine knowledge did you think you had about an experimental vaccination? I wait anxiously for another opinion column as to what we should do next.

What coming collapse are you referring to? If you mean an economic collapse, then we will see it coming, since Canada has the best or at least among the best debt to GDP ratios of all the G7 countries. Other countries such as the freedumb loving USA will collapse well before Canada. I suspect you are just trying to project responsibility for whatever bad thing may happen in the future onto the Liberals even though the majority of our issues right now are global in nature.

We need serious discussions among politicians about soaring cost of fuel and predicted food shortages worldwide. It’s all over the internet these days, but not mentioned between Trudeau and SSilver. Why?

The Yukon’s remote location and cold climate makes us especially vulnerable to breakdowns in food production and transport. We need to establish food security for Yukoners, now.

"pore?" as in a minute opening in a surface, especially the skin. Or, pour? as in going over, tipping out, flow rapidly.' (sorry Star proofer..I'm just being an ass).

Speaking of asses...they seem to be congregating in Ottawa. We do need to worry about Arctic sovereignty. I'd rather belong to the US, but we really risk Trudeau handing us to China. Trudeau's "Pay for Access" second job has been quiet lately, but "One attendee, Canadian financier Shenglin Xian, was awaiting final federal approval of his plan to set up a new bank. He received that approval two months later.
Another, Chinese billionaire Zhang Bin, later contributed much of a $1-million charitable donation made to the Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation and the University of Montreal’s law school."
https://www.thestar.com/opinion/commentary/2016/11/28/making-sense-of-justin-trudeaus-cash-for-access-scandal-walkom.html . Invasion of the Northern borders? nah.. the US would stop that before it started..the Liberals giving us away? yeah..that's on the table. Trudeau does love Xi Jinping and the Chinese dictatorship..he said so..2015.

The Yukon is rich. It is rich in gas, oil, gems, minerals..In the day, it was a great place to raise the family. To me, it is rich in wild life, clean air, clean water (for the most part). The winters? a little harsh, but I've done it over 50 years..What is it to fools? A bargaining tool? A throne from which to power monger? They are going to talk about health? Mental health..uh huh.. Trudeau does have 18 million dollars a year in body guards.. did he make too many too crazy? He IS afraid of the citizenry. A lot of politician's walked into the Freedom Convoy. No body guards.. Pierre Poilievre wandered around for a few days..but Trudeau ran and hid. I hope they also talked about exit plans for when they are kicked to the curb in elections.

No covid in the story. Looks like we have made the seamless switch from covid tyranny to Green tyranny. I can't wait for the "immediate action". Surely it will not infringe on our liberties.

Honest question. Aside from houses that are built on a floodplain flooding, how are communities being effected by climate change? I live in one. The temperature over the year ranges from -50 to +30. 80 degrees. I am told that if you average this over a year, and the difference varies by more than 2 degrees year over year, we are all goners. From what I see with my own 2 eyes we are doing just fine and will live to see another day.

I wonder if they talked about the increased death rate in the Yukon. March's death rate was up 30% compared to 2021, 100% compared to 2020, 24% compared to 2019, and 45% compared to 2018. Climate change?
