They were joined by Chrystia Freeland, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, and Dan Vandal, the minister of Northern Affairs.

According to a release from the Prime Minister’s office on Friday afternoon, Trudeau “reaffirmed his commitment to work collaboratively with Premier Silver” during the meeting.

Trudeau reportedly thanked Silver for his commitment to reconciliation in the Yukon, his work to transition Yukon College into a university in 2020 and the construction of a new campus sciences building.

The quartet discussed their commitment to five shared priorities.

These included action on climate change, sustainable economic growth, health, infrastructure and housing.

The federal release promised commitment on these items “to meet Yukon’s unique needs and realities.”
